I'd love to see some of the paths that Vir and Ta'Lon trod, it would be interesting to compare and contrast them to those taken by Londo and G'kar.

G'kar was first presented as a slippery character who could sometimes appear to be villainous but became a strong freedom fighter and then a spiritual, priestly character.

Londo started off as a comical doormat, then became a dark puppet and finally a tragic victim.

Ta'Lon has already got some of the quiet nobility that G'Kar ended up with and Vir, though still comic has the near end of his road mapped out and a lot of moral strength to hold onto (or lose on the way).

I would really like to see how different and how similar the journeys they take would be.

    About the Sock Puppets

I think we all can contribute that to JMS's screwy sense of humor

Well. I hope now as the strike is over that the new Lost Tales project might be given the green across the board (something I am quite sure will happen).

I'm looking forward to future installments Especially if Garibaldi and Londo happens to be in them. Too bad Andreas Katsulas is gone, but his memory will linger beyond the rim.

Yeah I guessed that myself cause I read the con report on this board.

But I hoped there was a misunderstanding or something by the folks on here...
So I posted it to see the response for last clarification - so thanx Jan!

I'm sorry, but there is *no* news on any developments that we haven't known about for almost three months. Perhaps it was news to the AICN folks that there had been talks before the strike about new Lost Tales but JMS essentially said exactly the same thing at the con as he did on Dec. 8, 2007:

One side-effect of this...after the sales on B5:TLT came in, way
exceeding WB's projections, they initiated talks about what to do
next, including commissioning more DVDs. Looking at the calendar, I
suggested that they might want to hurry the bureaucratic process
because we were going to be in a strike situation soon, so if they
wanted to move, they'd better commision a script fast.

And they said in response, and I quote verbatim, "We don't want to be
pressured in the process because we know there's not going to be a
strike this year, we can handle the Guild."
He did *not* say that talks had been resumed now that the strike is over, though I hope they will be and he did say that WB is finally realizing what they've got in B5.

The *only* new thing about Lost Tales that I heard was JMS revealing why sock puppets are sprinkled liberally in the Lost Tales Diaries: When told how much money he'd have to make it, his response was, "For that amount of money I can do it with sock puppets, not people."

I was there. Believe me, if there was any real news, you'd've heard it here first.

More BABYLON 5 On The Way!! Whoo-Hoo??
    Merrick here...

Comic Book Resources posted a summation of this weekend's WonderCon panel with J. Michael Straczynski (aka JMS).

The article touches on the status of several JMS projects. And, evidently, JMS said more BABYLON 5: THE LOST TALES direct-to-DVD shows are on the way. No other details were offered, except that the recent writer's strike apparently slowed start-up on these new B5 ventures.

This news should excite fans who think that any B5 is awesome, and may be greeted cautiously by those who felt last Summer's introductory installment was overwritten and underproduced.

Thanks Jan. Shame there's no news yet on future Lost Tales, I'm still impatiently waiting hoping Warner Brothers are going to order a substantial number and hopefully more like three or four Tales per disc.

To be honest I wonder where he's going to find the time for all those projects plus the Lost Tales plus the other mystery TV project with some massive names in sci-fi?

Well, we can't go losing any of our posters due to heart attacks, now, can we? I just changed the subject line to something a little less cardiac damaging.

JMS's spotlight at WonderCon is tomorrow afternoon so if there's any news on the Lost Tales front you can be sure I'll post it soonest. (Hey, Jon! Bring your laptop, okay? )

I had a very similar reaction just now too.
