  • Scripts Team Seeking PHP and SQL Programmer for Quickie Project

This is a message from the Captain of the Babylon 5 Scripts Team:

Babylon 5 Scripts Team Seeking PHP and SQL or MySQL Programmer for Quickie Project

Need an online submission form that writes back to a database in a text delineated format. (Nothing fancy). There will be 25-30 fields total. Would also like a copy of the data input by user to be emailed to the email address input by user.

Our current host offers SQL and all standard programming languages that come with a Linux server. We think we need someone with PHP and SQL but if you have an elegant solution with another widely used programming language we're open.

Please contact if you have this experience and your first thought after reading the requirements was "this is a snap" so we can send you the complete specs for a price quote.

Send an email to [email protected].

Please keep messages brief (no more than 3 paragraphs) and a link showing that you can do this.

IMPORANT: Your email subject line should read "I'm Your Programmer - YOUR FULL NAME HERE".

    Thanks in advance,
    Jaclyn

FYI, I've edited the above slightly to make sure it was clear that the Scripts Team isn't looking for unpaid volunteers.

So step right up and be the lucky person to code the "Please send me my Volume 15" page!

At least that would be my guess.

It would be a reasonably trivial exercise. However, it would be more trivial to someone who knows PHP.

Aye. There's "trivial" and then there's "banging on code for hours, because it shouldn't be doing THAT".

I know bits of PHP and a fair amount of SQL but not enough to call anything I do in it trivial.

I know that one. I spend about 40% of my work time doing stuff in PHP/Perl & MySQL. I consider that I know 'enough to be dangerous'.
