Can I publicy thank the person who kindly sent me scans of the comic.
I'll not name them here, they know who they are. I did try and respond in email but it bounced for some reason.
Ergo not to hink that I'm ungrateful, I'm not.
I'm very happy to have read it, there is no way I could have gotten hold of a copy.
Thanky you again, you know who you are I was quite touched.

Unfortunately, it looks like there are no more of the B5 mini-comic. I received a new follow-up response to my note to WB Home Video.
I am sorry to say that because this was an account exclusive and only while supplies last, there are no more available to send. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Somehow I made my way through the WB online maze and found a comment entry page and sent my comments in about the mini-comic only being included in the Best Buy versions of Lost Tales. This time I received a reply.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Please note that I have ordered the mini-comic and just waiting for them to arrive. As soon as I receive it, I will be more than happy to send you one.
I just tried to find that page again but it must be on Grey 17.

Sounds like a good idea. I just wrote to [email protected] and we'll see if I get some kind of response. I mentioned my disappointment and hoped that they could include it in the second Lost Tales release. If I get a response, I'll post something here.

EDIT: Unfortunately it appears that the email I sent it to is only for purchases from the WB online DVD store.

"No, there's not." said the Moderator. Free item or not, tribute or not, we don't discuss pirating intellectual property here. My synopsis, poor substitute that it might be, is still available to any who request it by PM or email.

Any chance that someone could scan in the comic and post it somewhere so that we could at least read the story?

    Thanks,

    I agree Cruiser.
I did finally get to watch it last night but wonder how many copies were produced initially for the entire country? Or worldwide distribution. IF there was a max of 6 special copies packaged... I suspect that the release party up in L.A. had the majority of the regular ones since they may well have had comics for autographs there.
Will have to keep tabs on the podcast to find out.

Other than that, I'm a happy camper. Other than not having the comic of course. Going to go listen to Episode #75 of the podcast right now.

You know...us country bumpkins can't get into Best Buy all that often, especially with the price of hay going up the way it has. Is this another urban conspiracy against us here country folk? Harumph....Harumph!!!!

I must say that I think WB marketing sure screwed the pooch on this one...if you listen closely, I think you can hear it yelping in the background while the the credits are running....

It did state that, Joe. I've heard of a few places that quite a few of the specially marked DVDs though, so there may have been a certain ratio sent depending on how many a store stocked? Dunno, I'm not a retailer.

Well then that just tears it.... and proves that the guy in the morning lied to me to cover his butt. 6 copies per store!?!
We are starting a campaign folks. That is not smart marketing and says that the distributors and possibly WB was being way too cautious and underestimating the demand.

Anyone else agree with me on this? More ticked off than you can possibly imagine.

I think we need to write to WB

Thanks Jan..he's not the only one that's made that mistake due to my first two initials.

I called BB back later in the afternoon and the flunkie I talked to said they only got 4 copies and were sold out!! I explained that I got in there first thing in the morning and the guy that morning said they got 44 copies but they hadn't come in yet!
After dealing with Walmart and my eyeglass fiasco, this is getting to be looking more like a Shadow conspiracy more and more. (see my LJ for details)

What the hell kind of marketing is this that A) Best Buy gets the special edition, and B) the stores only get less than 10 copies!? I'm not the only one, someone else somewhere reported their store only got 6 copies. I can understand 'limited edition' but this is rediculous!
I have a rain check (which is another near fiasco had I not been paying attention) in any case and can only hope that it's not the regular copy and has the comic. Otherwise, this middle age B5 fan is going to be getting very Minbari all over someone in charge of distribution.

(I told my daugher in a nutshell what the comic story was and she told me 'Now I know why you cried! I thought it was just because it had them in it.')

So, haven't yet to see it or get my hands on a copy. At least the numbers will look good to WB. Well yah! If you produce a smaller amount and they all sell out, it looks good to any number cruncher! Idiots.

For those who may not be able to get this but who are interested in the tribute to Rick/Franklin and Andreas/G'Kar, I've written a fairly detailed description/synopsis and I'll be happy to send it to anybody who PMs me. Remember, it's not a 'story' per se, it simply expands on what's said about them on the DVD.

    That gives me hope.

I think I'll have a look during my lunchbreak.

EDIT: ....and that's it ordered. รบ7.40 well spent, for an obsessive collector like me.

Mine did have the red sticker. I'm thinking I may just save this one and go buy another. Would add to the sales and could have people sign the blank one.
