  • Group Watch: Grey 17 Is Missing

This one's a bit off the wall as it starts off with an investigation into some murders, turning into a really weird Garibaldi adventure. It reminds me of some weird horror stuff with the dolls at first, and then gets even weirder as you see the society that's been living in there and their religious beliefs that are equally as creepy. That plot never really interested me too much. JMS has made a few remarks that indicates he knows it didn't turn out so great as well.

The Delenn part, though the more important to the arc, is pretty brief time wise in teh episode. The fight with Marcus and Neroon is rivetting, but I don't think there's much to be said about it. The rangers are willing to die for their religious caste's beliefs, but not hang around for the wariror cast so much. Nice little added tension as a prelude to the coming Minbari Civil War next season.

All in all, I think it's one of the weaker episodes of the season. The Garibaldi plot fits in better early season 2 I think than in season 3.

Jesus..I just noticed I skipped Walkabout. My bad! Let me make a thread

I loved the fight scene just because Marcus was so great in it. More than anything, though, I thought Neroon stole the episode. The other thing I thought was interesting about this one was that Jeremiah said exactly the same thing that Lennier/Delenn told Brother Edward about their beliefs. Just goes to show you that one person's spirituality is another person's nutty cult.

Never cared much for the Grey-17-story, although I like every moment where Garibaldi gets caught in such weird adventures. But I have to agree, that standalone plot probably would fit more into seasons one or two. While the outfit of the predator reminds me every time of the movie-"Predator" of McTiernan's Schwarzenegger-movie and it's sequel, the scene where Garibaldi kills it with the steam-pipe-gun is just unrealistic crap. B5 never needed silly MacGuyver-moments, and it surely didn't need it then.

I very much like the Neroon/Delenn/Marcus part. The fight-scene is very cool (such a nice epic music, too), and the scenario gets even stronger with Marcus' serious bleedings and injuries. Strongest moment of the episode though may be Neroon walking into the hall and accepting Delenn's authority.

Could not agree more This is one of Neroon's great moments , and I also love the visit to Marcus' bed and Marcus' final comment "Next time you want a revelation...." . I soo had to laugh at that one

and you comment of one person's spirituality .... how true - how true

I know my wife wanted to see this episode quite a bit just because of Robert Englund..she actually has met Robert and he's such a great guy and also was in love with Freddy Krueger in high school. Seeing Robert Englund and also the laugh between Marcus and Neroon at the end of the episode is the best parts while even though the fight and Ranger plot left over from Sinclair departure in WWE is kind of cool too. Other than that this isn't the greatest episode but much better than 1st season Infection for me anyways.

PS-i did like how Garibaldi found out how to get to Grey 17 with the count between levels. I know it's probably common sense but still thought it was cool. I'm a security guard and you don't realize about stuff like that until after seeing an episode like this.
