This is one of the more interesting and memorable A-plots of the series, in my opinion. We learn that there's a lot more to Bester than just some jerk guy who comes around to piss everyone off. And the link between telepaths and shadows is established.

This is a pretty straight forward question, and my question relates back to the Psi-Corps trilogy. Now, Bester's lover in that was not named Carylon, but Elizabeth Montoya, as I recall. Whens he was re-programmed, did they give her a new name? I forget. I can't recall a Carolyn mentioned in that book or prior to this, so I'm confused.
