Ahh, the title for which the season is named. Beautiful episode. The overall arc was pushed down a hill that got pretty darn steep at this point. So much wonderful foreshadowing, and so many changes! We also get Majel Barrett as a guest star, which is fun. I like that JMS cast her in a really serious role that shaped the show. JMS really likes to fight against stereotypes, and has self admittedly gone out of his way to hire Asian actors, who often don't get hired in hollywood, and I've also noticed that he likes to dispell typecasts, which he did with Majel and Bruce to name a couple.
JMS on her appearnace from the press release:
I guess it was pretty hot between DS9 vs. B5 viewers at the time. I watched both. Liked both. B5 still > DS9.
Discussion points I guess are really the end of the nightwatch and Zach's loyalites. Zach has had a lot of opportunities to back out of nightwatch before. Garibaldi ripped him one in a prior episode. So why did he back out now? He's seen the weird stuff happening the whole time, couldn't have been a new thing to him.
Londo's Vision. I'm gonna have to read the scriptbook on this one. not there yet in my script readings lol.
All yours.
JMS on her appearnace from the press release:
We're very pleased to have Majel appearing on 'Babylon 5.' Because as the wife of 'Star Trek' creator Gene Roddenberry, her appearance on our show will help dispel the notion -- held by some -- that one cannot be a fan of both series.
Majel and I discussed this between us, and we both view this rivalry as unproductive. We are both extending our hands across our respective fictional universes in a show of solidarity. So we're very happy that she has chosen to endorse 'Babylon 5' in this way, and hope that science fiction viewers of all stripes will check out the series.
