  • Babylon 5: TLT Party Anyone? :)

We get new Babylon 5 in a little over a month and a half...can you believe it's real?! I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself.

Actually, I'm considering hosting a B5:TLT:BBQ sometime in mid August, if anyone's in the bay area (california) and would be interested in such a thing. Maybe I should offer that to the newsgroups too. I know that firefly people do that sort of thing all the time, so I don't see why we shouldn't transfer that idea to B5.

Thanks, I thought of it only after I got back. I was busy meeting other internet friends (who I had never met as well) and only had two nights available anyway.

Smile of a shadow I'm not in the Bay Area but getting together with you in Mid August is a lot easier than getting together with the other B5 fans at the other B5 message board in Vegas. I figured out that $300 is too much money for me to get to Las Vegas and back. But I wouldn't mind getting together and having a little B5 celebration with you in the Bay Area. The cost to the bay area and see you or anyone else wouldn't be more than $100 back and forth. Even though I do want to go to Vegas and hang out with the other board group I just can't afford it unless I have someone to carpool with me. I wanted to take my wife too...btw, I'm in Sacramento (yes it's posted in my bio but still wanted to add that really quickly.

But you can count me in for sure!

Sacramento's way close. Will be glad to have you there. I'll keep you posted with details as soon as I figure out more. I've got a few friends who watch the show too who'll be there. There's a good sized list of bay area fans on meetup.com ...but I'm scared of people I don't know at all so I don't know if I want to go there lol. Anyone had good/bad experiences with meetup.com? I know the firefly community used it a lot.

If your unsure about meeting people that you don't know perhaps meet them at a neutral territory first. For example, if you were to meet them at like Round Table or something at at least your already in the public and if they are bad people you wouldn't have anything to worry about. But I think overall though if your having a group of people you haven't met before I think that would be safer than if you were to meet just one person.

Either way I am looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it to the TLT BBQ. Plus it looks like I'll meet a few of you at the Comic Con because there is no way I'm skipping out meeting Bruce Boxlietner and Tracy and hopefully JMS the same day!

I feel differently about people on this board because...I don't know, it's like I know you guys pretty well already, and those of you I have met, I just know the type. Really cool people. Random people from meetup.com....different ballgame, in my opinion. Maybe I will try to have a neutral event.
