And they're positioning TLT as another original movie on there, which is kind of odd. I can understand why they do it for tLaDiS, since that won't ever be anything more at this point, but TLT should at this point still be fully intended as a continuing series. In fact, I have been noticing that the whole 'anthology show' aspect has been curiously absent of various recent WB materials, TLT press releases and such. And VitD is only ever referred to as TLT, you have to work hard to find a mention of the subtitle in any of their materials. I can understand them not wanting to commit to too much yet at this point, but it is kind of odd how much they're de-emphasising this first instalment being a part of the TLT project, and not TLT in and off itself.

Also, if you try to click the link to buy the DVD from TLT Chronicles entry, it actually leads you to the movies boxset entry on the WB store, not the TLT entry (which does exist). Kind of a weird mistake to make for a redesign mostly intended to promote TLT. I honestly don't think the typos and such are that big of a deal, but I hope they get the whole 'buying the DVD they're promoting' thing right.

Hmm...new page is a lot better than the old one, I'll give it that. Still..I don't know about the background moving with the mouse. Doesn't feel right. They'll work out the bugs I'm sure.

Second..in chronicles...notice they mention everything BUT Crusade? lol

Yeah, it seems to be mostly a visual upgrade (which is rather so-so), and some adding of TLT things. I think I actually liked the old green site better, and I wasn't a huge fan of that one either. Oh well, as long as the trailer is up soon enough, I'm happy.

Yep, that's Babylon 5 as I remember it: big, pompous, stirring, melodramatic and oh-so-slightly cheesey.. Brilliant! I did like the choirs on the longer version I heard before, so look forward to seeing the whole of it.

The effects look excellent too, although that Minbari cruiser still looks way too large (but it's not on screen for long enough to be very noticeable)..

Hmm... the new babylon5.com page looks simpler than I expected. Great that it is up though. Too bad the trailer isn't yet.

And it's really nice to see that intro. For those commenting on it sounding LotR-ish in music, that's really only during the portrait sequence. When it crashes into the titles it becomes a bit more season 5-ish in feel, though still feeling bigger, with a nice choir and everything. Franke is the man.

edit: kind of weird that in the lost tales->downloads section, they're using all this old artwork for TLT wallpapers. Some of which don't look particularly good anyway. Someone went way, way too happy with the highlight brush in some of them. The gallery section deserves a quick peek though.

It's only part of the opening sequence, I'm pretty sure. What JMS said in NY was:
We created an opening setpiece for Babylon 5 and then kind of a combination tribute and main title because obviously the DVDs will later on include all kinds of other actors from the show and we also wanted to nod to them as well. So there's that piece put together and it's a different kind of main title than we've ever seen before with, again, this has a tribute to the other cast members, and on the opening for this thing I wanted to do something to pull it back in time to where we are in the story and to nod to Andreas who is very much missed.

Music sounds little bit like in the Rangers movie.

Is that music exactly the same as LoTR's main theme ?

I think it's the same one, just adjusted somewhat to go with this piece.

Whoa...is that a different take of G'kar's speech? Cause it doesn't sound quite as I remember it.

Not me. Not after waiting for months back when TMoS was a possibility. Heck, a few days is a snap!

I was there...in the early days of B5. Never knowing from season to season if the story would be compteted. Waiting for weeks, even months for new episodes. Searching desperately for the latest broadcast day and time as the networks shuffled it around. Yes, I was there. (and it was uphill both ways through a blinding snowstorm.

    Waiting. It's what we do.
