It's still hard to believe that such an amazing talent is gone for good. I never met Andreas but I've never forgotten JMS saying in one of the DVD commentaries "Andreas...is god" so reverently. This was before his illness was known. The tribute that JMS wrote in the script books really brought to life the real man for those of us who'd only known him through his work.
My thoughts are with his family.

The day I hear dof Andreas's passing I rewatched "Paragon of Animals" where his rewriting of the declaration of principles (even though some of it is read by Sheridan) strikes me so powerfuly, will rewatch again when I get up.

It's kind of weird, but I have a hard time seeing celebrities as "real" people. I know it's wrong, but I instinctively think of them all as these people who act, go home and snort cocaine between benefit dinners, awards shows and Scientology getaways. I really like watching behind the scenes featurettes as they usually make the actors seem more human, if they ARE genuinely human. A lot of times, it just reaffirms the stereotype.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.Comment

Cheers to Andreas. One year already
I understand how you can get the feeling that celebrities don't seem real. They are just people after all and I know enough of them to not be star struck when I meet one.
For some reason though, Biggs and Katsulas deaths' affected me in a way that no others have (save very close friends or family). I suppose it's the identification I have with the characters more than anything ... every role contains a bit of the actor who played it. I guess it's like looking at a multi-faceted diamond and only seeing the one side ... but sometimes you see one so brilliant even in the one facet that you just have to say "That's one hell of a diamond!"
Most of us will only ever know the actor/character facet of these people ... but you can't help admiring them for being truly amazing and feel a sense of loss at their departure. Truly film is an amazing medium. It locks a performance and in essence, a moment in time can live on forever ... or as long as the record of that moment exists.
Didn't mean to get so profound but these two deaths in particular brought me to a great deal of soul searching. So, I gave my moment of silence ... now I will toast up a pint and pop in ironically, "The Departed".
