I would argue that this is not definative, because JMS could have had the two shots in his mind and simply not put it in the script. Director's cut notwithstanding, JMS could have added it for his own reasons.

Like others, I recall from somewhere a JMS clue that the "two shots" thing was not accidental and was 'secretly" telling us something. I cannot track that down though, so own to the possibility that it is simply fevered fan extrapolation.
