  • 3 chances to avoid the darkness, Londo's future

When the previous emperors wife gave Londo a seeing she told him there were three chances to avoid the darkness comes. I could never figure out what they were cause they were so cryptic and I never really poured through every season to find them out.

Can anyone name the three chances?

You must save the eye that cannot see

You must not kill the one who is already dead

And lastly and if you fail at the others this will redeem you

You must surrender yourself to your greatest fear knowing it will distroy you.

Ohh I was like Lyta channeling a vorlon that just popped in to my head!

      These are lady Ladira's predictions:
"You have a chance few others will ever have. You still have three opportunities to avoid the fire that waits for you at the end of your journey. You have already missed two. You must save the eye that does not see. Do not kill the one who is already dead. Surrender yourself to your greatest fear, knowing it will destroy you. Now if you have failed all the others, that is your final chance for redemption."

That's Lady Morella, actually. She's the widow of Emperor Turhan. Lady Ladira is Lord Kiro's sister, and she saw the destruction of Babylon 5 and showed it to Sinclair in season 1's "Signs and Portents."

You're absolutely right of course. I was going to delete my reply because Susitcha pipped me to the post. But now I can't because your reply wouldn't make any sense

Ok so back to my questions, what events do each prediction relate too?

These two I think are the events of Signs and Portents and the other probably that narn attack in season two.

You must save the eye that does not see

                G'kar maybe

Do not kill the one who is already dead.

This pretains to the events of War without End and ITB .

I agree! I thinkit is about speaking out during Cartaga's whipping of G'Kar

Or Morden? He did kill him!

I thought this was his acceptance of the keeper and all it led to.

The first one has always been the most cryptic to me, G'Kar's eye seems the most obvious but how did that eye "not see"? I spose G'Kar stating that he could see things he was unable to before it was plucked out could cover that. How exactly would that have changed the future though?

The second one is IMHO Morden as you could considering him "dead" in that the Shadows have altered him for their purpose and removed any free will he had. Unlike the destruction of the shadow ships though Londo's killing of him is motivated by revenge for Aderia's death so could be considered a bad choice. If he'd been kept alive and say merely taken off Centuri Prime then perhaps he may have prevented the Drahk's takeover.

The last one is I'd say more likely to be letting G'Kar kill him in War Without End as thats clearly been one of Londo's greatest fears for along time. It also obviously redeems him in that he gives up his life to save his world.
                      Who are you?
                      What do you want?
What is the average inflight speed of an unladened swallow?

Had he spoken out about G'Kars treatment then it would have still been the eye that could not see? G'Kar would never have seen what he did on it's removal.

JMS told us what G'Kar's eye didn't see:

Yeah...would've been nice if Londo had at least tried to do
something about the eye that did not see Cartagia's splendor....

The most obvious reason for the second one being Morden rather than Sheridan IMHO is that he did kill the former but not the latter hence he needs to take the third chance.

Also according to earthforce records, he was already dead. That is why Sheriden could hold him without charge.
