As for Ivanova's earring, I'm pretty sure that one was actually scripted, and care was taken to make sure that Claudia kept it in the right (er, correct) ear whenever she was in front of the camera.

Bester's hand was actually an invention of Walter Koenig, who wanted to give his character a peculiar affectation. I think he was having a pseudo-Richard III moment there.

Similarly, Morden's chain, I believe, was also somthing that Ed Wasser brought with him because he thought it would be a good mystery. Not positive, though. I remember there were newsboard posts back in the day where people asked whether there was any significance to Morden's necklace and jms gave the cryptic "could be".

Of course, as any story or backstory is fleshed, a good writer will incorporate these things into the character's history, which is what happened in "The Shadow Within" and "The Telepath Trilogy".

One of the joys of rewatching B5 is seeing the little things that the show does. For example on Mordons first appearance he is wearing a Sliver chain with a stone at the end (not sure if can see the stone). If you read shadow with you find out that chain was a gift from Anna Sheridan and Stone is a a reminder of this wife and daughter how died. Its simple its simple its there and its very brought up in the show. Or the fact the IVANOVA only wears one ear ring in her left ear because she gave the other one to her brother who was killed in the war. The fact that the Earth force Uniforms open to the right for men and left for women (granted you do see a woman in a man's uniform from time to time I guess they were running short.) There is also how Bester never opens his left hand. (I think its left I get confused with mirror the whole image issue.

There are other things I was just wondering if anyone could at to this list or had comments on it.
