  • New Claudia Christian Interview

On the Scotsman web site: http://news.scotsman.com/opinion.cfm?id=1149822006

Nothing about future B5 projects. In fact, she calls B5 a series "that ran for four years..."

  • #2
I think she means that the job ran (for her) for four years. She mentioned the four years thing several times in one of the commentaries she did for the DVDs.

A fan asked JMS if there was any chance of seeing Ivanova in B5: The Lost Tales and all JMS said was "Who can say?"

The fact that JMS wrote the story "Hidden Agendas", featuring Ivanova, after the Claudia debacle is proof that the character is alive in his mind. Claudia, for her part, has admitted her mistakes and even appeared on the DVDs, so I would think both parties aren't nearly as estranged as some people tend to think.

JMS showed that he'll do what's best for the *story* regardless of personal feelings when he hired Robert Foxworth (who'd bailed out of his contract for Severed Dreams) for Jeremiah. Of course, he seems to have succumbed to some baser impulses once he actually got Foxworth on the set (as related in the script books) but...hey he's only human.

See, Jan, that's a nice person's interpretation of events. I'd say he cast Foxworth for the sole purpose of getting him on the set and torturing him, but that's must my nasty suspicious nature showing through. You just aren't sufficiently well acquainted with the dark side of the human psyche to recognize this stuff when you see it. Which is not an entirely bad trait.

Why do I suddenly feel like Lyta and want to exclaim "Who's been claiming I'm a nice person?!I do, too, have a nasty suspicious nature! I'm gonna sue somebody! "

Having never seen an episode of Jeremiah or the aforementioned scriptbooks, I am hopelessly without a clue.

It's no secret, B5O. As you may know Robert Foxworth bailed on his committment to appear in Severed Dreams in order to be in an episode of Trek. Needless to say, this peeved JMS although his writing out General Hague may have actually strenthened the episode.

Years later, while filming Jeremiah, a part came along and Foxworth's name came up for it. Though still somewhat peeved, JMS hired him as he was right for that part.

JMS joked in the script book that he had Foxworth memorize a long speech and made sure the director got lots and lots and lots...and did I mention lots...of takes even though that footage would never be used. As we'd seen with JMS writing the joke script, he always gets even.

Yet another great jms story. Not particularly vicious prank to play on an actor, though. They're used to seeing their labors end up on the editing room floor and, after all, any gig is a good one (except gay porn, Zathras say never do that, very bad, clk clk).

Why? Jeff Griggs, the actor who played Dan Randall, the evil ISN anchor from season 4, has done a *lot* of gay porn over the years, frequently under the name "Tony Sinatra".

Is that really true? I don't really know why it surprised me so much, but it kind of did...

Wow...I would have never known. I guess it pays to look up the actors for amusement sake Wasn't the Talia Winters actress on headline news for awhile too or one of those networks?

While we're on the porn discussion, Andrea Thompson apparently has done at least one soft-core Italian film. Don't you all rush out to the indie video store in a mob, now!

Ummm, I've seen the pictures. Freaky about Dan Randall. It just shows that even the most obscure Zathrasism can sometimes be shockingly relevant.
