Fasten then zip or zip then fasten?

In this time of waiting for news on a B5 project, political arguing and speculation disagreements, I think now is as good of a time as any to ask the age old question that's been going on for the past 10 years

True story: I'm a fasten-zip man, but before I watched this B5 episode I was actually a zip-fasten. But then Babylon Squared got me to thinking... why *do* I zip-fasten? Why not fasten-zip? Maybe it's easier? Or better?

LOL - Now this is a funny thread.

For me it's always been fasten then zip. It comes from a memory as a child when my best friend used to zip then fasten and got himself caught in the zip !! While we were all rolling about on the floor laughing, he was having his trousers delicately cut away by his mother in the other room. To this day when I mention it to him it brings back painful memories.

A lesson to us all.

Even if you use a button, it's still commonly called "fastening" your pants. (checks closet) In fact, NONE of my pants has an actual fastener. Even the suit pants use a button!

My point, RC, is that I don't have a zipper at all! My jeans fasten completely with buttons and there is no "zip" to my jeans.

Now, why are we all talking about my pants?
