You know you watched too much (or maybe not too much ;-)) B5 when you do a Visitor's tour through the white house these days and keep mutter: "we are here to put the president under arrest"

(I know the original quote waas "..to put president clark under arrest." but this way it fits somewhat better)

It's just that the station is the symbol of everyone and everything in Babylon 5. It was where everything happened. And when it blows up, it's the end, really the end. You can't help but be moved by it... and miss it...

Babylon 5 was the last of the Babylon stations. There would never be another. It changed the future, and it changed us.
What a sad thing you are! Unable to answer even such a simple question without falling back on references and genealogies and what other people call you! Have you nothing of your own? Nothing to stand on that is not provided, defined, delineated, stamped, sanctioned, numbered and approved by others? How can you be expected to fight for someone else, when you haven't the fairest idea who you are?

          How About This?

I recently saw a friend I hadn't seen in years. We are very close. When we parted, i felt the overwhelming desire to tell her that if I didn't see her again, we would meet one day in the place where no shadows fall.

Great scott. I am a sappy sappy man.

Okay, this may not really belong here but it's not worth it's own thread. I think if anybody here *doesn't* know I watch too much Babylon 5, they must be pretty new.

Last January I was in an extremely minor accident (considering that I was rear-ended by a semi) which caused my pretty little red car to be totaled by the insurance company. By great good luck, a co-worker's father had a low mileage car that I could buy for the amount that I got from the insurance company and all seemed well.

Except...it's a little silver car. Now, maybe it's just this area, but I suddenly noticed that it seemed like half of the cars on the road (those that weren't SUVs, that is) were little silver cars. I went to an SF/Comic convention the weekend after I bought it and had to check the license plate to make sure it was my car. I was amazed to find that it really bugged me!

So, I set about making it more 'me' (yes, a frightening thought, but bear with me). I put a bright green alien antenna topper on. For my birthday treat in April I ordered a vanity plate that reads 'ISIL ZHA'. I've got a window decal I'll be putting in the rear view mirror that reads 'Psi Corps Academy' and I've got some B5 stickers I'll put on the front window. I've got a B5 Station micro-machine hanging off the rear view mirror and today...today came the crowning touch. My custom engraved license plate frame arrived. It reads: MY OTHER CAR IS A STARFURY.

Next convention I might look at the license plate but it'll already be obvious that it's my car!

I suppose, as long as you don't actually turn the car into a Star-Fury like that dork's dad did with the family truck in Trekkies.
A little extreme but hey ... your prerogative right?
Already I get some flak from my fiance about my B5 posters. She hasn't watched the series ... one day maybe ... but she's virulantly anti Sci-Fi and it's all Star Trek's fault. Fortunately for her, my ex girlfriend accidentally destroyed my pewter Babylon 5 station that I had on my television. So, she doesn't have to grimace over that.
I have scored a minor victory in that I am allowed ONE of my B5 posters when we move into our new place ... as long as it's framed.
Hmmm if she does end up watching the sjhow ... she'll finally understand why it's so important to me that we watch the sun rise.

Jan...where did you get that? Was it years ago, or something you obtained recently? I'd love to find something like that for my car! (Although, with my license plate - ANLA'SHK - a Ranger Academy decal would be more appropriate.)

There's a bar just a block away from work where the lowlifes go to get shitfaced. It's name? The White Star.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

                          Oooh, I like Ranger Academy!

I had a few of them made several years ago and this is the last of them. I'm playing with the idea of doing it as a window cling instead, though, so as not to have to do the adhesive thing on the windshield. That seems to be the best way for me to be able to get a Psi symbol.

Now I think about it, maybe the window cling is the way to go and then I can change at whim to Earthforce Academy, Ranger Academy, Psi Corps Academy. For anybody else who likes the idea, it's an Avery product called Window Decals for InkJet Printers and stock # is 3276. It comes 6 sheets to a package.

It's funny, but in the interim, I'd decided to make it myself...great minds thinking alike!...so I've already set up the collegiate-style font with Psi symbols on either side of it, and I'm looking into buying clear window cling (I only have clear stickers at home, currently). The biggest annoyance though is that the longest window cling I can find is 12", and the design is about 22". I'd rather have it on one sheet than have to line up two clings on the back window...

Well, FWIW, the cling sheets have a 'graph paper' sort of backing so it'll be easy to cut them straight if you have to. I figure I can use the defroster lines in my windshield to line them up. With your talent, I'm sure yours will look great!

Sadly, Avery doesn't make those anymore. But I just ordered some high-end window cling stock from papilio.com which looks very nice (I went the high-end route because Paul and I have come up with something we could do with them for the business, so it's really a business purchase and I'll just pilfer one sheet from the company for enhancing my car!).

What I liked about this site was that it was the only place I found online that was selling window cling stock that could be used in a laser printer. Most are for inkjet only.
