  • The Red Data Crystal G'Kar had in , "And the rock cried, no hiding"

G'Kar had a red data crystal with a hologram recording of Londo, telling Lord Refa he was about to die and why.

I had been wondering when this plot between G'Kar and Londo had begun, he couldn't have told G'Kar during the episode, but G'Kar seemed to know it was coming.

I do remember a few episodes earlier, the one with King Arthur, before G'Kar jumps into the fight against the lurkers fighting King Arthur, he is speaking with a human who gives him a RED DATA crystal.

Is this when the plot to kill Lord Refa started. I can't recall if this took place after the episode where Lord Refa posions Aderra.

Hmm it appears the Adira episode is after the King Arthur one.

Why are you so sure that Londo couldn't have arranged things with G'Kar during the course of that episode? We don't ever see every moment in every character's day. I think it's stretching to try to find an earlier episode where Londo might have somehow indirectly passed that particular data crystal to G'Kar.

        Data Crystals are pretty

How are we so sure? How are you so sure it DID happen in the episode? you don't, which is where the speculation lies.

I will have to look at the arthur episode when I get to season 3, that would be interesting to see it since most Data Crystals we see are clear I'd like to see if he was handed a red crystal before the episode.

I always thought the plot was concieved durring the episode, but for how well planned it was and for how long it may have took to get his guards and G'Kar's people in place, it may have taken a while.

"Hello, Refa. If you are seeing this message, it is because in a very few minutes you will be dead. I have made sure that the guards assigned to you are loyal to house Mollari. They will not obey you from this moment forward. You've taken from me, that which I loved, Refa. You also took the life of prime minister Malakai, a good and dear friend. You have inconvenienced me, and threatened my position in the Royal Court, and weakened our defenses by your constant warfare. None of which matters to G'Kar or his associates. But I think they do care about what you have done to them, Refa. Yes, I think they care about that a great deal."
"I have given G'Kar documents which prove that you are the one who orchestrated the bombing of Narn homeworld against my advice. That you personally were involved in the creation of death camps and genetic cleansing programs. That you are personally responsible of the death of five or six million Narns. And I think that they would like to thank you, personally, for your efforts."
"On the off chance that G'Kar might not believe me, I have arranged for two thousand Narns now in custody to be freed. Half in advance, half pending his co-operation. In all a sufficient inducement, I think. You see, it's not enough for me to .. simply kill you, Refa. I could do that at home, or here. But through your death on Narn, I will discredit your house and all opposition in the Royal Court. Goodbye, Refa."
"It is said that the future is always born in pain. The history of war is the history of pain. If we are wise, what is born of that pain matures into the promise of a better world, because we learn that we can no longer afford the mistakes of the past." -- G'Kar in Babylon 5:"In the Beginning"

And I just thought the data crystal was red because it had Refa's blood on it...

Mmmmm, tastes of chicken.... It's been a while since I've seen that episode. Which season is it. 3 or 4? It's one of my favorites.

Precisely. The RED crystal is only seen at the end of the episode when we see Londo handing it to the Minister and stating "we found this on Refa's body"

We are atlking two different data crystals here, the one with Londo's hologram, and the one G'Kar plants on Refa's soon-to-be corpse. The latter is what Londo hands Minister Virini.

After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone .. our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit .. that the part of me that is going .. will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

And that's the data crystal I'm talking about.

Londo says "This [data crystal] was found on Refa's body". It was red, which I have always assumed was Refa's blood on the data crystal.

Yes I was talking about the data crystal G'Kar had with Londo's Holo, he had to know what was on it already. He was not surprised in the least.

G'Kar already knew what the Centauri did to his world. No surprise there.

When G'Kar found out that Lord Refa was the one who put it together, it was controlled rage that was on G'Kar's face.

G'Kar watches the beating of Refa, then walks away before the fade out to commercial. I've assumed it was then G'Kar let his emotions pour fourth, like he did when Sheridan and Delenn told him of their plans to help the Narn, without letting their governments know.

G'Kar had to know something was going to happen, when Reffa said what are you waiting for, G'Kar said, "This"

He knew the guards beforehand were not going to be against him, he knew before he left for Narn, he had too.

Oh, of course. I don't think anyone is questioning the fact that he went to Narn knowing that Vir's message was a ruse, because Londo had told him it was a ruse to set up Refa. He clearly knew the whole setup.

However, the earlier epside ("A late Delivery from Avalon") was episode 12, and "The Rock Cried Out..." was episode 20. Each season being a year, that would be months and months earlier. I just think that unlikely, even if Londo had formulated the plan that far in advance.
