  • Garabaldi's Bania Calda recipe

I was wondering if anyone new where I could get the Bania Calda recipe that Garabaldi made for his birthday.

It is included in the book Dining on Babylon 5, which is now very hard to get hold of ... basically a collection of humanised versions of a load of food mentioned in the show.

Read the first review on the page (by Stephen C Smith) which explains the background to how it came about, and the approach they took. My wife bought it several years ago, and B5 aside, some of the recipes in there are really quite good.

If I can find it, I will see if I can dig out the Bagna Cauda recipe.

        It's "Bagna Cauda."

Bania was the guy on Seinfeld.

Thanks for all the responses. As for my spelling of Bagna Cauda, I didn't know how it was spelled and when I did a google search on italian fondue the responses listed had it spelled as Bania Calda, Bana Caida, and Bagna Cauda. The one I chose to use in my post was the first one I saw.

If anything, this is evidence of the sheer number of morons who are on the web.

As I've mentioned before, we have the dish every year on NYE. For those who don't like anchovies...the fishy taste is cooked away.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Keith Floyd, Britain's legendary TV chef, but on his Italian series he made Bagna Cauda (sounds closest to the way he pronounced it). It, like the B.C scene in Babylon 5, was one of the most mouth watering TV moments I've seen.

For those of you who don't know Keith Floyd- he is an absolute Don! Watch ANYTHING he does!

                  BANA CAIDA (Italian Fondue)

                  1/2 c. Good olive oil
                  1/4 c. butter
3 lg. or 4 smaller cloves garlic, chopped
                  1 can anchovies

Heat oil, butter, and sautÚ chopped garlic. Add anchovies and cook on simmer until anchovies cook and stir mixture until soft smooth fondue.

                  Use as a dip for:
                  Italian bread chunks
                  Celery sticks
                  Carrot sticks
                  Green capsicum slices
                  Enjoy
