  • My tribute to Andreas

I am new here, but Andreas Katsulas was one of the three heroes in my life; one of the three people who changed where my life was.

I first really watched him as G'Kar, and I loved and collected all things G'Kar..... but also all things Andreas (even buying the Conference of the Birds book to try and get an insight into a man I knew I would never meet).

To that end, here is my way of saying 'THANK YOU, ANDREAS'

    Be at peace

Thank you both for the compliment

It was such a shock to hear the news.... Andreas signed (via a third party) two of my paintings at Vulcon in 2000, and seemed like a very gracious man.

LOL My room has been a virtual shrine to all things G'Kar for so long now...*sigh* it is such a loss.

Jan, it's an old book about the Peter Brook company's tour through Africa in the early 70s. Andreas was in the company at that time (as was Helen Mirren). There are lots of great stories, and pictures. The old, hardcover version of the book (which you can still find from time to time on half.com, as sell-offs from libraries) has a picture of the company on the cover, which in my opinion is better than the closeup portrait of Peter Brook which apparently now graces the current, paperback edition's cover. The British version of the hardcover has an even better cover picture of the group. On both covers, an impossibly young Andreas is shirtless, but on the British cover he's heavily bearded and looks a little rougher, leading me to think that that photo was taken later in the tour.

The title refers to an epic Sufi mystical poem (or more accurately a collection of poems) that the company performed during this period.
