Has JMS talked as of yet about the music that set the tempo/mood that he was looking for when working with Christopher Franke?

Will he discuss this in the script books?

What was his authority on the music which, I believe, really complemented each scene.

Not so far in the books. There's a mini about the music and Christopher Franke in the DVDs.

Don't know yet but I wouldn't be surprised.

To the best of my knowledge, his was the final authority. He's mentioned online that he would 'spot' the music for each episode (telling Chris Franke where it should come and go) as well as be involved with the editing

I agree 100% that the music was a huge contribution to the show.

There are quite a few messages in the Lurker's Guide that discuss the music used in the show. JMS worked with Chris Franke as best he could, but he's admitted that he has almost no musical inclination. He would try to describe in general terms what he wanted to hear, and Chris did some pretty amazing things with it.

If you go back to some of the old B5 Magazine, we did a couple of articles on the various alien cultures, like the Narn, Minbari and Centauri. In addition to talking to the makeup, costume and art department people, I also made a point of talking to Christopher Franke, who had some really interesting insights into how he designed musical themes for the different alien races.

Don't suppose you've got any idea of the issue numbers, do you Joe?
