Im sure this is very old news, but I was watching Star Trek TNG and Dodger and Lyta were both in the same episode and another with Narron. I seen these several times and finally it hit me who they were, OK so I am a little slow, lol

I've never been to MegaCon so I would never want to assume any facts that aren't true, but it can be very difficult to un-cancel a guest in terms of promotional materials that may have been created before that cancellation. Most con promoters are not about to go back to the printer to create new flyers, program books, posters, etc, so they generally protect themselves with the disclaimer that all appearances are subject to work commitments and so forth. The loss of a few big-name guests can always be a big problem, especially when fans may be coming from a great distance to see one person in particular. That being said (and I am NOT accusing MegaCon of this), I can think of more than a couple of conventions where show organizers were aware of a cancellation weeks, if not months, before the convention but didn't make all that much effort to let people know, because it would have meant lower ticket sales. That practice has thankfully been eliminated in recent years thanks to the Internet where a convention can post cancellation notices on their websites within minutes. None of that helps of course, when a guest cancels a week or two before the event when it's too late for people to change their travel plans. And before I forget, Doug Jones (who it should be mentioned, appeared briefly in an episode of Crusade) is one of my all-time favorite people, who always gives 125% effort at every appearance. When we first met, I thought, 'Nobody could be that nice!' but he really is. One of my favorite Doug Jones memories is when we at the International Makeup Artist Trade Show in London a couple of years ago and Doug came along just because he happened to be working on a film in Paris and came along with a few mutual friends. After the show was over, my wife offered Doug a lift back to the hotel, but he insisted on curling up in the back. Seeing six-foot-three Doug Jones squeezed into the back of her Astra, Sheelagh was hugely apologetic about the discomfort but Doug just grinned. 'Don't worry, I'm contortionist!' he reminded her.

I will be at Philly as well mainly for Claudia as well as the Buffy and Star Wars casts. I am hoping they get Jeff Conway since he was at the Anahiem one.

    W. Morgan Sheppard (Soul Hunter) in the new, opening episode of Dr Who, with his real-life son Mark playing a younger version of the same charatcer later on in.

WMS has a terrific voice doesn't he?

That reminds me of my first visit to Dragon*Con. The autograph room was in this tiny section of the dealer's room, and it was terribly arranged, a giant mess.
Not-so-fondly referred to as "the Walk of Shame."

During the entire time I was there (perhaps 3 hours?) in the various lines, one gentleman was there, Lorenzo Lamos, had not one person show up. No one even stopped by to say "hello." I almost felt bad for him. Them I remembered what a jerk he was on that "beautiful people" reality show, using a laser pointer to point out flaws on perfectly gorgeous people, and thought "ha!"

I thought about asking her, but I got the idea she didn't want to be bothered. To be honest there wasn't many people at her table. Bad move putting her between the Next Gen table and the Smallville table of Pa Kent and Brianiac. If Bruce was there, I am sure she would have gotten more attention. If I felt bad for anyone at the Con, it was her since a lot of people were getting refunds for the photos with her and Bruce. I choose to take a photo with her and the wife got Doug Jones who was the exact opposite of Mira, hugging everyone who came by. I kinda put in on Bruce's team since he did attend another Con two weeks ago and the fact that Froggy Photos was totally confused on their own schedule due to absence.

Agreed that Bruce or his agent should have given as much notice as possible but we also don't really know when he cancelled. While I've never heard anything bad about Megacon, it's not uncommon for cons to keep headliners in their advertising long after the actual cancellation.

I've seen Mira at a few cons and she often comes over as reserved. She's very, very nice when she warms up, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if many fans who've followed JMS on Facebook (and here, perhaps) weren't asking her all weekend if she knew anything about any upcoming B5 projects.

I won't be doing Megacon for awhile. It was a very expansive vacation. While, it could very well be the manager's fault for double booking Bruce that weekend, Bruce is the one who is going to get blamed for it. I also think it cancled Cindy Morgan from Tron and Caddyshack to cancel as well. It was nice to see Mira and the photo situation made up for the rather icy autograph reception. I still think if Bruce was going to no-show, his manager should have given them more of heads up since he was billed as the third big star behind Stan and Shatner even ahead of James Marsters and the Next Gen cast in the MegaCon book as well as being in TV commericals.
